Show & Tell linkup with Andrea, sharing about our prom experiences and even a few pics! I have to give my mom and sister credit for digging up the photos and sending me a few to share today π
The small high school I went to both Juniors and Seniors attended prom and if you had a date who was in one of those grades then you could go as an underclassman as well. So I went to prom 3 years in a row since I had an older boyfriend as a sophomore, what was really nice was that I got to go with my bff/cousin who was a senior at the time!
I still LOVE this dress from my first prom! My mom and I had found the basis of it at Forever21 and knew it looked very similar to a dress in an ad from one of my magazines (that we’ve actually still kept). So we bought it and had it altered to look like this! I also love that we used the tulle from my moms dress! HOW FUN!?! This still might be my favorite dress of all time π
I honestly struggled to remember my Junior prom, I guess it just wasn’t anything special or worth remembering? So this was the picture my mom found and even still I didn’t recall much…HA!
Looking back on my senior prom I just have to laugh. I know we thought we were the sh*t being the big dogs and that is just so funny to me. I’m pretty sure we showed up late and left early because duh that’s what the cool kids did. This was one of the few times I wore a long dress to any high school dance and I think I saved one of the best for last, it was perfect for prom and spring and going out with a bang!
Reminiscing on Prom seems so silly. My friends and I never did the whole limo thing, in fact we usually tried to get someones mini van just so we could all pile in together. There were only bars or McDonald’s in our tiny town so we had to drive to the next town 20-30 minutes away that still only had an Applebee’s or something similar to go to a ‘nice’ dinner. But I have to say we always had fun!
Funny how it seems like such a huge deal at the time and now I can hardly recall it. Definitely keeps life in perspective for the future to truly not fret, what feels like big things now will likely become little things later in the grand scheme of it all. My husband, Ron, didn’t even actually attend prom, which isn’t at all surprising. He raced go-karts when he was younger and chose to race over attending prom, no-brainer for him! So, he probably looked something like this…
For a little bonus here is a pic of my parents at their Prom as well as my in laws! HAPPY MONDAY FRIENDS! π

Thanks! I think it is my favorite dress ever, if I could still wear it I totally would π
Laura says
You had the BEST dresses! Love them. Also, that is so cool that you have your parents and in-law’s prom photos.
Rechelle says
Oh thank you Laura! Yes, while I was searching for mine I just had to ask them for theirs photos too π

Love the pics! Your first dress is awesome! Iβd wear something like that. I have two high school boys. One is attending Prom next weekend. The other could care less and will be riding his 4-wheeler instead (reminds me of your husband!)

Thanks Terra, I loved that dress! Too funny, those boys and their Motorsports π Glad they get to choose what they want though!
