It’s been a while since I did not blog last week, so here is a little look at what we were up to! My husband was off all week as his company does a summer shut down and I took off Wed & Thursday to have an extra long weekend. It has been HOT HOT HOT with no real end in sight, temps usually around 90 which is quite high for Michigan. So we’ve been mostly getting outside first thing in the morning or just before bedtime to avoid the bulk of the heat & sun. Ro has enjoyed some more time in his splash pad! I have to have the water just barely turned on because he does not like it spraying up very high at him lol
We smoked/grilled some ribs & enjoyed a little cookout with my parents, as they came over just before the 4th. And we wrapped up that day with a trip for Froyo and then home to bed for Ro!
Saturday was an early start, Ro was awake before 7am, so we took advantage to beat the heat & headed out for an adventure! We loaded up the whole crew & explored a local state park – Ron & I used to visit often during our college days so it was nice to get back there. We were home before 10a for Ro’s morning nap and we were all already very warm & sweaty! It was such a great start to the holiday 🙂
We had a patriotic snack, with donuts that we picked up after our morning adventure, plus Empanada had to join too.
Then we enjoyed some leftover ribs too! Ro loved getting his own rib to eat just like us 🙂
I finished the day sitting outside with Hank & a s’more 😉
The state park looks like fun!
