Friday was a great start to the weekend! We went to the Detroit Tigers game with my parents and Ron’s parents! Such fun 🙂
We headed down to Columbus on Saturday with Ron’s parents and grandma for a wedding weekend! We are actually on our way back home today, maybe even right now as you’re reading.
It was a truly great weekend! So many fun memories were made and a million more laughs were shared. The wedding was beautiful too!
I’m also sharing my July book reviews! I finished reading The Island at the beginning of July. This one was a little tougher, the issues in the story line a little harder. I enjoyed it none the less. A really great read to reflect on the relationships with the women in your family!
Since we were so busy with birthdays all month-long it took me a little longer to get through my next book, After You. This is the sequel to Me Before You. GREAT READ just like the first book. I will say this second book wasn’t at all what I was expecting. It was even better! I haven’t seen the movie for the first book though and I won’t spoil the stories. I will say that I am so happy to have known Louisa as a character and see where her life is headed.
Finally, I took complete advantage of our drive down to Ohio (and I’m certain I’ll finish this up on the ride
home today) by squeezing in one more book for the month. I started Home Is Where My People Are by Sophie Hudson months ago then tucked it in my nightstand and somehow forgot to finish it! I’ve also read A Little Salty to Cut the Sweet and absolutely loved it. I’ve got Giddy Up Eunice, her latest, on my list to pick up too. Sophie does an excellent job of telling it like it is, making you laugh and cry (sometimes at the same time!), and making you appreciate life. Pick up any of her books for a light, easy, heartfelt read…like right now!
