Phew, we finally were able to make more progress on our deck project on Saturday! Of course the week after we started we had rain for a solid week straight, so that threw us off course a little bit. We were able to fit in an hour each night last week and mostly finish it up this past weekend.
We hadn’t planned on going with the brick red originally but at the store we made a last minute executive decision. I’m really happy with how it has turned out and think it gave our deck a nice little upgrade. Plus it is a little farm like and fits right in with our beagle ranch 😉
I had to laugh when I realized we have a red, white, and blue porch (blue in the patio set)…of course my husband and I would subconsciously do that! #TruePatriots
On Sunday I grocery shopped and spent the afternoon in the kitchen while Ron worked on homework for his masters, literally all day! In the meantime of course Hank & Hal took Sunday very seriously as they always do. They prefer not to do much of anything on Sunday, other than move from sleeping spot to sleeping spot.
In the kitchen I whipped up banana bread with a maple glaze, prepped veggies for the week, made potato soup for dinner later this week (and some to freeze for another meal this month), as well as meatloaf and acorn squash for dinner. Though I failed at taking pictures :\
It was a busy day, but I have to say it was completely fulfilling! My husband worked away on his homework and I know he was so grateful for all the food I was making and planning ahead to make dinners this week quicker and easier. I too am very thankful for the hard work he puts in for our family, a whole weekend day dedicated to homework isn’t easy, especially when I know he wanted to be out in the garage 😉 Though we did sneak in a quick little cruise in the new Vette!
I’m ready to take on this Monday and this week! I hope you are too 🙂
