We went into the weekend with no plans and just went wherever we were led. One of the best kind of weekends!
Friday night we headed to the dog park. And since my sister, Raelyn, had decided to come over along with Finley it ended up being a fun little adventure!
Saturday we were up bright and early as usual. I love starting my weekend mornings out on the deck with my breakfast, a book and the beags!
On Sunday Ron and I rode our bikes down to the town farmers market before the rain hit in the afternoon.
At the end of each month I will aim to review the books I’ve read throughout the month, please do offer suggestions on what you think I should read the following month too! Also, I’m a firm believer in supporting libraries. It saves me money and storage space from all the books I read too, so you will see mostly library books here.
I started out the month with one of my newfound favorite authors, Elin Hilderbrand. Summerland was no exception to her fabulous books! Such easy reads with a heartfelt story. This one really threw me for a loop, it was a little different from her previous ones that I’ve read in that it followed the love story of young adults, but it still really kept me guessing. Pick this one up for the beach!
I followed up with Shauna Niequist’s Bread & Wine. I’m adding this book to my list to buy, it was so good I just need to have a copy. Plus there are recipes throughout that tie in with the stories she tells, so that makes it fun. After finishing this one I was left with the urge to host my closest friends and family in our home and just never leave. Definitely a cozy up and read kind of book.
Finally, I’m wrapping up the month with another Elin Hilderbrand novel, The Island. So far, so good! After finding Elin Hilderbrand I’ve fallen in love and am trying to get through all her books, so you’ll be seeing lots of hers over the months.
I tend to be a fan of love stories and easy to read beach type novels. What do you enjoy reading? Are there any must reads I need to add to my list?
