We had a pretty low key weekend. Saturday Ro was a little off so we hung around home & snuggled up as needed.
Sunday he seemed much more himself and was hamming it up while I tried to snap some photos as we were coordinating in our olive green, black, & camo 🙂
I did get my Halloween decor taken down & Thanksgiving put up! Though I’m thinking it might not last long & I’ll be giving in to early Christmas decor….when do you your holiday decor up!?
It has been a long while since I’ve done a book review so I figured it was time, I also went through a spell where I wasn’t reading anything because I was just in a rut.
Becoming by Michelle Obama – I LOVED that Michelle was the voice for the audiobook!! It felt so much more personal hearing her voice. I thought this was a really great story of a women that is seen as so strong, where she started, how she overcame, & how that all got her to where she is today.
Girl, Stop Apologizing by Rachel Hollis – After hearing Michelle Obama narrate her own book & loving that so much I was on the hunt for more, which led me to Rachel Hollis. I love Rachel Hollis & her company! This is a really empowering book that will pump you up & EVEN BETTER when you hear Rachel speak truth in to your soul through it!
The Last Time I saw You by Liv Constantine – I don’t typically read thrillers but decided to try something different while I was waiting for other books to become available through my library which led me here. This actually turned out to be a surprising story! Kate’s mother is found murdered and it seemingly could be anyone. The psychological suspense of this one is high as the killer taunts Kate until they are finally revealed. This was a nice little change of pace for me.
The Farm by Joanne Ramos – I’m still not sure how I feel about this one! It is a story about a “farm” where women are paid as surrogates for wealthy families that either can’t or choose not to carry their own pregnancies. At this “farm” the women keep schedules to make sure they’re getting the proper care & are in an environment to best foster the babies they are growing. But it’s a little messed up in that these women are essentially treated as property of the farm. Though not so far fetched that I wouldn’t find it believable. It does wrap up well with a really nice overall message, but the whole “farm” aspect still has me perplexed!
Once And For All by Sarah Dessen – Sarah Dessen was probably my favorite author as a teen in high school and this book definitely took me back in the best way! Such great teeny bopper romance that makes your heart flutter. There was a heavy topic of a school shooting but of course lots of light teenage problems & love too.
Dear Girls by Ali Wong – Yet another memoir narrated by the author! Oh my gosh I was laughing SO hard right from the get go!! This story has a lot of funny yet is so real & relate-able too. There is a bit of vulgar language & raunchy stories but again seriously SO FUNNY, especially hearing Ali Wong read it! I really enjoyed when she talked about her parents though, getting to learn more about her heritage as a Chinese-Vietnamese American.

Ro’s hamming faces are cracking me up!! And I’m thinking we’ll Christmas decor it up sooner rather than later. We haven’t had them out with a toddler yet, but it’s so much work to get everything up, I use that as my justification for getting it all up early!
