Woohoo for a fabulous weekend with friends! We hosted my girlfriends and their significant others for our annual holiday party. We couldn’t get together before Christmas due to the busy holiday season so we made January work just fine – and honestly I think I liked it better without the stress of fitting it all in before the end of the year. You can see our fun from last December here!
We had decided on a doing a White Elephant gift exchange when we had our last get together in October. We set a budget and a goal for all the gifts to be gender neutral. It turned out to be A TON OF FUN!!! The gift I put together was a Colonel Popper (for microwave use), popcorn kernels, and seasonings. I had taken a pic of all the gifts everyone brought and then deleted it before getting them uploaded for this post, ugh! But they were all winners – from golf balls, to an Amazon Echo, portable power bank for phone charging, Yeti tumbler, a hammock, 90’s themed gift pack that included snaps bracelets & a tammagochi, and finally a set of red/white wine!
I asked for a dutch oven for Christmas and couldn’t wait to use it after we returned from AZ. So I made Korean Short Ribs for our get together and just asked everyone else to provide some sides, apps, and dessert. I think it turned out really well and can not wait to make more meals with this! We just hung out, socializing and even playing a few games. I love time with my people 🙂
Sunday was lazy and easy. My husband decided to make a peach cobbler so we indulged for breakfast 🙂 then he played some songs on his guitar while I meal planned and Hank & Hal did what they always do on Sundays <3
