End of the month linkup with Sheaffer & Shay, here is what July looked like around here!
What we’re eating this week…
Since we’re currently staying with my parents I didn’t meal plan for the first time in MONTHS! Lol, it feels glorious π though I do already have a meal plan started for when we return home. This week we’re had lasagna, BBQ chicken pizza, & tacos so far!
What I’m reminiscing about…
Always fun, this time last year we shared our pregnancy announcement with Ro!
What I’m loving…
I am loving all the fun with Ro recently, he is so busy – always all over the place & talking more each day.
What we’ve beenΒ upΒ to…
Soaking up summer! Chicken Chores, walks, adventures, lots of laughs, ice cream, gardening…
What I’m dreading…
I return on site to work in less than two weeks. While I am looking forward to having dedicated time & space to do my work I am sad to not be spending as much time with my little fam at home. I know we’ll get back in to a routine but I am not looking forward to the difficult transition period as we figure it out.
What I’m working on…
All sorts of things and nothing lol, not much comes to mind though
What I’m excited about…
I’ll be excited when my hubby is back home π
What I’m watching/reading…
After a big month of reading I’ve slowed down a little the last couple weeks. I find I go in cycles like that where I read a bunch & then hit a lull, I always find my way back to books though! I’m currently reading The Mothers by Brit Bennett and am really enjoying it! along with this view from the lounge swing at my parents home!
What I’m listening to…
I’ve listened to The Chicks newest album a couple times, they were always a favorite of mine growing up so it is fun to hear them again after 14 years. The title track is pretty catchy!
What I’m wearing…
Nothing new over here. Just graphic tees and shorts with sandals or flip flops.
What I’m doing this weekend…
I’m not sure that we have any plans just yet, but I’m betting it will involve the chickens π
What I’m looking forward to next month…
I guess because my birthday is in July I always think of how full the month is with birthdays of people in our family, turns out August is another month of celebrations. Ro will be 18 months so it’s his half birthday, my cousin has a birthday, as well as my Dad, plus both of my in-laws have August birthdays! And my parents will celebrate 30 years of marriage!
What else is new…
Well, it’s my mom & aunt’s birthday today! Wishing them the happiest day π

So much love in your pictures. Ro is getting great education and stimulation with your family at their house. You encouraged me when I was nervous about returning to onsite work in June, so my turn to encourage you. Be gentle w yourself, there are lots of changes to learn, but go easy and take one step at a time. Be safe. I will pray for you. Happy birthday to you mom and aunt!
Rechelle says
Thank you, thank you, thank you Laurie!! So appreciate the kind words, XO!

I think around 18 months is one of my favourite ages with kids!!! Enjoy it!!! And we’re heading out tomorrow for two weeks of reading and not having to meal plan at my parents house. It is seriously the best!!!

I love your big garden and the chickens! It makes me want to go move somewhere rural and have a little farm! π Ro is the cutest and I love that he’s helping you with chores and starting to talk more. It’s such a fun age, isn’t it? π
