And just like that the first month of 2021 is wrapping up, linking with Shay & Sheaffer to share what we were up to this month!
What we’re eating this week…
Keeping things kind of simple this week with both just pasta & pizza on the menu, plus using up some of the things we already have without having to grocery shop for more. We don’t have a pantry in this new home (but plans to put a small one in!) so dry goods are just stored in a couple drawers and our current fridge is a smaller one that we bought until the one we actually ordered arrives (all appliances are on crazy backorder right now). So we’ve got less space than we’re used to and I’m finding it important to only keep what we need & use, which I actually kind of love!
What I’m reminiscing about…
It is so crazy to think that 2 years ago we were anticipating the arrival of Ro (except even though he was due 1/29, he made us wait 2 extra weeks)! I love looking back on pictures of pregnancy & then even just last year to see how much he’s grown!
What we’ve been up to…
We’ve been enjoying outside & sledding when we can, keeping ourselves busy with activities inside otherwise, making meals together, and reading a whole lot!
What I’m dreading…
Not a darn thing! Don’t have time for that 😉
What I’m working on…
We’ve been working on settling more in to our home. We decided on paint colors throughout the home & general style/theme but of course it will take time to find all the right pieces & get things set up, it is hard to have the patience for it to all come together! So mostly I’ve focused on getting rid of things that I know I don’t want long term, feels good to have less!
What I’m excited about…
I’ve been planning a bit for Ronald’s 2nd birthday next month. even though we’re keeping it really small with just some family at our home, I am excited to still make it special! Planning some of the little details is so fun for me 🙂
What I’m watching/reading…
Watching practically nothing on TV…we’re just not TV kind of people! I also took a break from reading this month, I did finish one book but otherwise didn’t put any pressure on myself to jump right in to the next.
What I’m listening to…
My husband stumbled upon the I Miss the 90s radio station on Amazon Music and I can’t get enough!
What I’m wearing…
My parents gifted me a couple Boy Mom things for Christmas and I’m enjoying sporting those! I’ve always been a boy mom, between the dogs & now babies 😉
What I’m doing this weekend…
Plans these days usually include trying to tackle something new at our home.
What I’m looking forward to next month…
Ro turns 2! I’m excited for his birthday & party, even if it is just family.

It must be fun to decorate your new home…can’t wait to follow a long and a 90’s station? Yes sign me up! My fave…you look great Mama!!

It is fun to decorate new, but also hard to be patient that my ideas will take time to come to life lol!

You make the cutest boy mom ever! So fun that Ro is almost 2. Is he excited to be a big brother or does he not understand? Gabbie was 2 yrs and 2 months when Zachary was born and it took her a bit to understand!
Rechelle says
Awe, thanks so much. Ro doesn’t quite understand about baby brother, we talk about him often to try to prepare him though! Sometimes he’ll say no or not me or other not so positive responses lol

I think two years apart is the perfect age for kids to be. That’s how far apart mine are and they are seriously each other’s best friends. And I want to listening to that radio station. It sounds perfect!

Thanks, we’re hoping it will be perfect age spacing too! 🙂
