Linking up with Stephanie again this month to share what I’m reading! The last couple months I’ve shared the books I’ve read and am currently on track to finish for the month. Since this linkup falls in the middle of the month I want to start only sharing & reviewing what I’ve read completely. So each month will be what I read in the last half of the previous month & first half of the current month – hopefully that makes sense π This is what I’ve finished this month so far…
Β
The Secret Life of Violet Grant by Beatriz Williams
This is the first audiobook I’ve read (listened to?). Once I got used to the narrator I quite enjoyed it! I will say that I’ve got some learning/training to do when I comes to audiobooks…there were several times when I found my mind wandering and I was not paying attention at all. Anyway, this book is about Vivian & Violet, bouncing back between to 2 women’s stories and decades. Violet is Vivian’s long lost aunt – as Vivian goes digging through history to learn as much about her aunt Violet she uncovers the darkness yet is also inspired to pursue an ambitious future & love too. I really enjoyed this one!
The Girl in the Tower by Katherine Arden
This is the second book in a series, I read the first one back in January. I also listened to this audiobook on my commute to/from work each day and finished it just yesterday. The Girl in the Tower picks back up with Vasilisa as she must choose between marriage or life in a convent. Of course adventure strikes and Vasya is called upon to once again rescue those who so easily outcast her. I struggled a little bit to get into the first book but this one I LOVED! Maybe it was because it was an audiobook? I am not sure since I am so new to this style of reading, but I thought the narrator was really good and I found myself sitting in the driveway a couple times after I got home just so I could listen a little more π
I just checked out Small Great Things as my next audiobook from my library, so that one will be included in my review next month! Along with Only Love Today as I continue to work through that one each night before bed. Hoping that the weather here in Michigan gets its act together and Spring actually makes an appearance to stay! I’m itching to get into some beach reads and still have a few Elin Hilderbrand novels to check off my list before I’m all caught up on hers!
Don’t forget you can always friend me on Goodreads and keep up with what I’m reading! What are you reading this month?

Thanks Holly! My goal for this year was to read 3 books per month and somehow I’ve been able to actually manage 4 each month! I know with summer coming up that I’ll slow down since I’ll be outside more though. Audiobooks help me read more since I can listen while I’m driving, cleaning, cooking, etc. and then while I’m at home any time I find myself reaching to browse social media I try to grab a book instead π

We read The Secret Life of Violet Grant in my book club. It was ok. I can’t do audio books for that reason – too hard to pay attention! Small Great Things is good, I think you’ll like it!

Audiobooks can be tricky but I love how much more I’m able to read – in the car, kitchen – it is so great for multi-tasking! But yes, sometimes I find myself having to rewind because I missed something…I’m only just over an hour into Small Great Things and WOW, I can tell its going to be a good one π
