It’s time for my monthly post to share what I’ve been reading recently! You can always follow me on Goodreads here and see my past book reviews here.
This book, while it is fiction, is based on the true story of Alicia Corning Clark and her relationship with JFK. I listened to the audiobook and thought the accents from the narrator was a fun touch. I found the story to be extremely interesting and oh so fascinating! Rumor has it that the Kennedy family paid off Alicia to keep quiet not only about the romance between her and JFK but also potentially a baby <gasp>…I will be honest though after JFK was out of the scene in this story about three-quarters of the way through my interest decreased a little but I still think it is a worthwhile read if you’re a fan of JFK!
Okay so this one was definitely a tear jerker! This one Joyce shares her real love story with Jim and it was EVERYTHING. After 20+ years on her own after divorcing the father of her 3 children Joyce had kind of accepted that love wasn’t in the cards for her. Until of course she met Jim at age 57. Just after their 1st wedding anniversary Jim is diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. They spent the next 19 months fighting it together and learn what love & marriage really are! I cried so hard but in such a good way. If you love love this is one for you!
Of course another audiobook for me this month. This book follows 2 girls in India who develop such a strong friendship who a driven apart but never give up on one another. The story is heart-wrenching one moment and heart-warming another. Poornima & Savitha are beautiful and strong, their outlook on life and drive to stick together will inspire you and the tragedies they live through prove we can all not only survive but thrive. This book was truly difficult to get through at some points only because I knew how true the events are today (abuse, human trafficking, etc.) and the realities of them hurt. If you want to feel empowered, read this one!
I’m only 2 books away from my goal of reading 36 books for the year! Can’t wait to surpass it 🙂 What are you reading!?

Sounds like you found some good books to read. That last one sounds similar to one I read, but maybe better written, I might need to check it out!
