Hey friends! Today is all about the books I’ve been reading recently, see my review of books from last month here. And actually all my books this month were audiobooks! I am reading a couple physical books but I just haven’t quite gotten all the way through them so I decided to save them for my next review in August.
Another audiobook for me! This one was out of my norm too and was more of a suspense thriller novel. Jack & Grace appear to have the perfect marriage full of complete romance. Though you also catch on that you never see them apart. Grace never answers the phone and if she is home Jack always says she is busy or showering or out. She cooks amazingly elaborate meals for dinner parties yet seems to be slimming. Is it really the perfect marriage or just a perfect lie?
This one was good and it really got me with the twists and turns a bit! It wasn’t too scary or crazy for me who doesn’t typically read thriller novels. I would definitely recommend if you’re looking for something to switch things up!
I squeezed in this short audiobook between my other two this month and really enjoyed it!! It has a religious undertone but the basis of what Bob says is that we should love everybody, always. He shares stories of how to love without reservation or judgement or even when we don’t want to. But even more what living in such a way means & how it can not only impact your life but others too! I love these kind of self care books because they are important and usually simple, so the reminder is always appreciated. It’s a quick read too and one that I think I might pick up a copy to refer to often, highlight, & even share with others.
Ah another from my favorite author! This is Elin’s newest novel and her first murder mystery which I really enjoyed. The Perfect Couple had all my Hilderbrand favorites on Nantucket with love and still fit into an excellent beach read but it did have that suspenseful thrill to it, a nice change of pace. I huge, fancy, & prominent wedding is about to take place on Nantucket of course until the morning of when the bride finds her maid of honor floating dead in the water. Chapters alternate between the perfect couple developing their relationship to present day with trying to solve the murder mystery and things get juicy on both fronts! I also really liked that characters from a couple of her previous novels appeared 🙂
As always you can follow me on Goodreads! What are you reading? What am I missing out on that I need to add to my library wish list 😉

Hi Rechelle… I’m on a reading “real” books binge right now. Sometimes I read online instead. Keeping the library busy. I love a cozy mystery – small town setting, usually laid back, lots of friends, small business owner who does sleuthing on the side… maybe a touch of romance…

I love to use my local library! Sounds like you might enjoy Behind Closed Doors that I read…little touch of romance with lots of mystery and thrill!

I just finished The Perfect Couple too and loved it- wasn’t it great for her first murder mystery? I need to pick up Everybody Always- I think I will really like it! I just started The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella- so far so cute!! 🙂
