A quick look at our weekend and an update of what I’ve been reading lately!
We went to the Friday Food Truck Festival in town for dinner after work. It was a little warm but when we sat down in the shade there was actually a nice littler breeze so it worked out well!
Saturday we visited some friends & their sweet baby girl who is not quite 2 months old yet…I didn’t take a single picture (FAIL), Ron grabbed this one at least.
Sunday we just hung around home. I did the usual grocery shopping, Hank cornered a groundhog, just typical Sunday things hehe ๐
And Monday morning Ro woke up HAPPY! I feed him at 6:30 and he is usually in bed by 7p, he stirred at 1:45a and I quick popped in his paci hoping to get a little closer to 2a. He ended up not waking again until 3:45a to eat, then was back down just after 4a and I had to wake him up at 6:20a to feed him before going to work. Growing boy needed his sleep!!
And now for the books I’ve read the last couple months…
This was the final book in a series I started last year. It was a very unique book compared to what I usually read and I found this last book to be the most exciting. If you are in to fantasy or Russian fairytales then this would be a good series to try!
Ahhh it was so nice to get back to my favorite author Hilderbrand! A story about 4 couples who are a tight knit group until one of the couples dies tragically on their anniversary and the history of everyone unravels. Some big ugly truths are revealed and I found myself torn on how to feel. There is love and loyalty and best of all Nantucket ๐
This was probably one of my least favorite Hilderbrand books. I pretty quickly saw through the story line and then it didn’t quite wrap up as well as I would have liked. A story about 3 women who become unlikely friends, their secrets that are shared and ones that tear them apart.
This was an audiobook for me and I truly think it was the BEST I have ever listened to!!! The story of a legend rock and roll band from the late sixties and how they fell apart. There are a lot of characters and it took a little bit to get the all straight but the audiobook has a different voice for each character and it honestly adds a whole new level to the story. It is told interview style and I really had to keep telling myself that this was fiction, it felt so real!
This book was a little dark and quite sad. I do think it was an interesting read just not something I would probably pick up again. A story about a Chinese American family living in the 1970s in Ohio, the struggles they face in society and the hard relationships they have with one another.
I was not expecting this one to unfold the way it did and then tie all together in the end too. It was SO good! I’ve enjoyed Sally Hepworth’s other books as well so I knew this was a must read. As by the title this story is about the tricky relationship between a mother-in-law & daughter-in-law but also the rest of the family dynamics. It is a murder mystery but not at all dark & harsh.

Your family is darling!
I really need to get back to reading books. Lately Iโm reading the fan fiction pages online. Stories written by fans of tv shows – their versions of story lines w the characters. There are some doozies out there. The stories are rated similar to movies.

Thanks Laurie! Those sound really interesting! I’m mostly “reading” via audiobook these days because it is just easier with my hands full ๐

How do you now squish that precious boy constantly? He is so happy and handsome!! Ahhh! The pictures are killing me. Love your books. Elin Hilderbrand is my favorite author and The Castaways and Nantucket Nights were the very two books I ready by her years ago and loved them both :
