Hooray, I am linking up to share some of the books I’ve read the last few months & my thoughts on them!
A Woman Is No Man by Etaf Rum – I added this one to my library request list after seeing Shay post about how much it had just stuck with her, and WOW yeah I would agree. The story & message will linger with you for a while. My heart broke for many of the women in this story but it also swelled with love & joy for others. A story of Arab women living in America, it is incredibly sad & heartbreaking yet empowering as well. Being fiction I kept in mind that it was not necessarily a true or fair account for all Arab women obviously, nonetheless it was moving.
Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris – I’d seen this book on lists from various readers and when I saw it was available via the app I use to check out library books I decided to read it. Again, another very moving story! My heart was so broken by the events that unfolded throughout, yet warmed by the resilience of kindness in people.
Summer of ’79: Elin Hilderbrand follow up to Summer of ’69 – I thought Summer of ’69 was so-so, not my favorite by Hilderbrand but it didn’t stand out either, I finished wanting just more. Well, here was that more! I really loved this little short novel & tying up of loose ends. It felt more like the novels from Elin that I am used to. Definitely a follow up that you’ll want to read!
The Dream Daughter by Diane Chamberlain – This book was a little sci-fi without being too far out there. I enjoyed it so much!! It boggled my mind & I couldn’t help but share the story line with my husband too lol. It is a story of a mother’s love and how far she will go to save her unborn baby girl after learning she has a heart defect and sometimes letting go is the greatest love you can give too.
We Met in December by Rosie Curtis – This was a easy to read, not at all winter-y or Christmas-y, light hearted chick lit. I listened to this one on audio and loved that as a book set in London it was read by a Brit, which just added to the story.
I almost finished All The Ways We Said Goodbye but couldn’t quite get through it all before it was electronically checked out from me since the time was up, so I’ve got a hold on it to finish the last like 10% lol. And right now I’m wrapping up The Dinner List and am LOVING it! What are you reading? What should I read next?!

I didn’t know much about The Dream Daughter, just have read a few books by the author that I have liked & the description on the back sounded good – I was blown away by how much I liked it!!

I usually really love Chamberlain, but TDD is probably my least favorite of hers. Not a bad book, just…not what I thought I was in for!
Rechelle says
Definitely not what I thought I was in for, I totally agree with that!

I completely agree about Summer of 69. I wanted more to read… and our wish was granted. I thought this was a great follow up.

It would be awesome to get more little novella follow ups to her books!

I didn’t love Summer of 69 but I am going to read the little novella follow up.
A Woman is No Man was difficult but important.
