Rounding up the year to share the books I’ve read the last couple months, linking up with Jana Says & Life According to Steph.
This book was so good! It is written in verse, so it is poem like, and it was incredible on audio!!! This was a story based on the plane crash that took place not long after 9/11 in which most of the passengers were Dominican. A story about 2 sisters, of loss, hope, and love.
The final in the Elin’s winter series and by far my favorite. I did not love Winter in Paradise but this book wrapped things up really well and I have grown to enjoy the characters more. Super fun that she brought in a special guest from her previous winter series too!
I don’t remember who, but I know on Instagram some I followed had shared a post by Kate Baer which led me to follow her too. I’ve since become obsessed with her poetry & her IG, if you’re not following her you need to be! At first I slowly read a couple poems a night wanting to savor the book and then ended up just needing to devour it by the end of the week!! Excellent poems relating to womanhood, motherhood, friendships, etc.
I don’t remember who I saw recommend this book but I had tagged it and when I needed a book to fill time in between library books being available I grabbed this one. The author was a speechwriter for Obama and I did find the book to be slightly Democratic biased. Regardless, it definitely made me more aware, wanting to dig deeper, and think critically!
This was an excellent book, told from a few characters points of view, and really makes you think about our society. This excerpt of the summary from Goodreads says it well: “What does it mean to be a good neighbor? How do we live alongside each other when we don’t see eye to eye?―as it explores the effects of class, race, and heartrending star-crossed love in a story that’s as provocative as it is powerful.”
I’ve moved on to festive winter books for the rest of the year! This one was a bit steamy which I was not expecting and it was incredibly easy to tell the plot from the beginning. Cheesy & romantic, easy to read, perfect for my first Christmas book of the season! It is the sixth book in a series but I picked it up just fine without having read the prior five.
What are you reading!?

This is a great mix of books. I loved What Kind of Woman and Clap When You Land as well. And I still haven’t read ANY Elin Hilderbrand, which I think I need to remedy!

Clap When You Land is on my list.
I have that Elin H from Netgalley, I never read it before publication. It might be a good read this week, I usually sail through those!
