I’m linking up again to share my recent purchases from Amazon Prime!
Foam Hand Soap Dispenser – I prefer to buy hand soap in bulk and just refill dispensers. We were in need of a new one for our kitchen & this 2 pack fit the bill so I have a back up in case any others in the house need replacing later.
Kitchen Scissors – These were to replace our kitchen scissors that we’ve had for wayyyy too long. Ron found the secret to quickly & easily getting most of Ro’s foods ready to eat & using scissors to cut it up work SO WELL! These are used multiple times a day in our home!
Women’s Wide Brim Hat – I’m working on being very diligent with sun protection this summer trying to build up my habits. I read a really good point recently where a mom said how could she expect her kids to follow her rules to protect themselves from the sun with sunblock, hats, & glasses if she herself didn’t do the same. That just really resonated with me & made so much sense. Even at 16 months Ro understands that to go outside he needs a hat, shoes, & sunglasses, he’ll bring us those items when he asks to go out – he doesn’t quite know the sunblock part but he will sit down & help me apply it. So I’ve been putting sunblock on myself, donning my hat, & sunglasses too. This hat is so lightweight & has worked really well at keeping the sun off my face.
Mesh Zipper Pouch – In a FB mom group I had seen these pouches suggested for puzzle storage & decided to try them out. Our puzzles were just in a stack on the floor in our living room, so they needed some organization. I like that these keep all the pieces together & easily can be packed to go with us or stored away in a bin now.
Sticker Pad – I picked this up along with the necklace set below as a gift for a new big sister when we went to visit a bestie who recently had a sweet little boy. I found both via Brittany as a recommendation for a quiet busy activity, which I’m sure the new mama to 2 could use some times 😉 Not going to lie, I wanted to play with this myself when it arrived lol!
Necklace Activity Set – Gifted with the above sticker pad. I loved that this is reusable so you can continually make new necklaces over & over!
Hearing Protection Headphones – So Ro’s head has always measured in 97+ or 99+ percentile, his Dad always had a big noggin too! He quickly outgrew the first set of earmuffs we got last year and since we always put them on him while he rides the mower with Ron, which is ALL THE TIME, we upgraded to the next size for a better fit!
Sippy & Straw Lid – Bought this to convert Ro’s Munchkin 360 cup to a straw cup. He loved the upgrade & thought it was new. It does leak minimally but we only put water in it so water leaking isn’t a big deal.

I love that Ro is bringing you his hat and sunglasses when he wants to go outside! Those puzzle bags are so smart. I hated always trying to stack those wooden puzzles.
Rechelle says
Yes, he has shown us that he really understands so much! I hated the stack of puzzles too so these bags have been so nice!

Thanks for sharing these things. I am going to order the puzzle bags for my great nieces and nephews. What a smart idea!

I am so glad I clicked on your blog today – I’ve been searching for a soap dispenser as well since we order from Grove and other sites and only utilize the refill packs to save packaging (trying to be as green as we can!). Thanks for the recommendation – I just ordered them for our home! 🙂

We order a lot from Grove too, trying to be green, exactly what I was needing them for too lol! Always happy to share 🙂

Sounds like fun in the summer in your area! Glad you, Ron and Ro are practicing good sun protection. Don’t forget the tops of your feet, esp when wearing sandals. And back of hands, when driving. UVA rays penetrate window glass. These are more damaging than the UVB rays as they go deep into the skin layers and can cause havoc. I’d like those zipper bags to corral other stuff around my house!
Rechelle says
Yes! Making a habit to apply SPF every single day, even in the shade UV rays can bounce off surrounding surfaces & still penetrate our skin. I’d say I’ve always been pretty aware of trying to protect myself from the sun but now I am hyper aware with Ro!

Okay, I think we need those puzzle bags because Fletcher has been so into puzzles lately but the pieces are always everywhere!
Also, any tips for teaching them how to drink out of a straw? I keep trying but he doesn’t seem to get it. I would love to get the straws and lids for his 360 cups so he can drink smoothies more easily but he needs to master the technique first!

Yes, the bags are so handy for keeping the pieces together!!
Ro has been drinking from a straw since 6 months. I think what helped most was that we used a Mr. Juice Bear or Honey Bear straw cup to start! Highly recommended by feeding specialists because it very easily allows you as the parent to squeeze the belly of the bear to get the drink up the straw so it just barely is reachable by the child to encourage them to suck to keep it coming up the straw. After a couple times of us squeezing water up the straw to his lips he quickly caught on to how the straw works and has been a master since!

I love everything! That hat is super cute!
How long did it take for Ro to get used to headphones?? I have tried putting headphones on Ella just to get her used to it and she hates it! (I predict on our next trip to Maine our ipad will come in handy and she’ll need to wear headphones.)
Love the lid/straw for the 360 cup- might have to buy the same thing! 🙂

Thanks Ashley!
It didn’t take long at all for Ro to adjust to the earmuff protection. I think mostly because he quickly caught on that if he wanted to ride on the lawn mower then he needed to wear the earmuffs for protection. Something I’ve noticed to get him to comply with anything though is to not make a big deal out it, just keep patiently trying and if Ella takes them off wait until she is distracted to put them back on without drawing attention to it. Or maybe try putting them on when she is doing something she already likes so she can associate that she might like the headphones.
