HELLO! I thought I’d share some of my memory keeping habits, the ways I try to preserve Our Story. I’ve written several posts about Our Story that you can scroll through here, from how we met, got engaged, & details from our wedding, plus more!
I found Becky Higgins & Project Life through Instagram after several people I follow just kept posting and raving about it, I’ve fallen more in love with the company & brand the more I use them! It just keeps memory keeping simple. My husband got me this binder for our 1st anniversary I think and it was what inspired me to turn it into a binder of our anniversary celebration each year! I love looking back through it and look forward to watching it grow each year!
I included our Honeymoon as well of course since it was the first celebration together of our marriage, I guess besides our wedding 😉 I just write the little details of the places/foods we ate & some activities we did each day.
I continue the same for each year, just making a couple pages for each trip. This is a look at our 1st anniversary in Chicago.
Then on to Pittsburgh for year 2! I should also add that each year it is our goal to visit a different MLB ballpark, so that is what helps determine where we go to celebrate another year of us 🙂
Finally, this past year we spent a week in Denver! You can see more details from our trip here, here, and here. I took 45 minutes to create these pages from our trip to Denver so that I could share the details with you here on my blog – that’s it, 45 minutes on one free day throughout the year to document our Anniversary!
Last year I also started using the Project Life app to complete Project 52 – in which I created a layout for every single week of the year and then was able to create & order a photo book of all the layouts to make what I’m calling our 2017 Family Yearbook!
Creating a layout each week takes me 10 minutes or less in the app and I LOVE having this little book to look back on – can you imagine how this collection will grow over the years?!?! The fact that it takes so little time and is actually easy is what makes me good at scrap booking now lol – it is easy to find the time to get it done when I don’t feel stressed about it.
The quality of this book is beyond AMAZING, totally above all my expectations! I went with the 12×12 size and love that the photos came out so clear and it is easy to see everything. It was so simple to add all of the weekly layouts into a project and then order it in book form, all through the app. I highly recommend checking out Becky’s most recent blog post on how she creates her family yearbook, because it is really similar to how I did it and she has SO MANY good tips! The service provided in general is outstanding, very informative posts to guide you through everything, and the customer service I’ve received is top notch.
How do you preserve memories for yourself or family?

You are so organized and you are dong it beautifully! I let Shutterfly help me every year. I start a book on January 1 and make a family album for every year.

Thanks so much Holly! I think keeping it simple is the key to making sure it gets done every year 😉
