Our Bags Are Packed!

January 16, 2019 by Rechelle 11 Comments

Last week I shared our nursery reveal and I so appreciate everyone’s kind words! We’ve also got our hospital bag ready to go so I thought I’d share some of the essentials I chose to fill it with – obviously I don’t yet know what will be useful or what I wish we would’ve packed or left at home, so I’ll need to update this after, but I thought it would be nice to at least document for next time too ๐Ÿ˜‰ Let me know if you have any tips/tricks for what to bring with us to the hospital!

As you may know, the college my husband & I attended required that we move every 3 months which meant we got pretty good at only having what we really needed & packing it all up. So as a result we’ve always been pretty good packers, when we fly we always just share one bag. I knew I only wanted to bring the necessities to the hospital too even though I do like to be quite prepared. The hospital I’ll be delivering at is about 20 minutes from our house so we’re close enough that if hubby needs to run home it isn’t a big deal either!

A set of clothes for hubby, along with his toiletries. We have travel size bottles for shampoo, body wash, etc. so I just packed those things and then grabbed the free toothbrushes/toothpastes and what not that we always get from the Dentist.

Toiletries, beauty, and healthcare things for me. Again using travel sized things, most of which I already had, I don’t want to have to remember to grab these types of things when we’re headed out the door so I purchased my favorites to pack it all now.

I also broke my toiletries up into 2 little bags – one of things that I think I may want during labor and one of items that I don’t think I will use until after delivery. This way it will be easy to just tell my husband which bag I want & I’m not searching!

Clothes for me after delivery & to go home in. A nice robe, nursing tops, loose pants, and fuzzy no slip socks!

The essentials for Baby M. I am all about using everything the hospital provides so you won’t find diapers or wipes in here! I did toss in a couple outfit options of different sizes along with a swaddle for those first photo ops too ๐Ÿ˜‰

Snacks & entertainment to keep us fueled! (Hal was inspecting to ensure I had everything necessary lol)

I actually used packing cubes for each of our things, again to make it easy to find what we need when we need & want it. I have a short list placed on top of the duffel of items we’ll want to grab before we head out the door, like camera & SD card, laptop, chargers, etc. Otherwise I think we’re all set!!!

Looks like youโ€™ve got everything you will need for babyโ€™s arrival and coming home. Coming soon! I can only think of charge cords for devices and/or those portable device battery chargers. I donโ€™t have kids, only dogs. Not too much longer… keeping you in prayers for safe journey as you embrace this next chapter of life. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‰

Looks like you’re really prepared! So excited for the two of you – I love keeping up on your blogs and so excited for you to welcome baby M! You two will be great parents and role models ๐Ÿ™‚ One thought from other momma friends I’ve overheard would be to take a few lip balms with you – keep one in each bag/pouch so you’re never without that because they’re expensive at the hospital! Good luck & God bless!

Thank you so much Sara!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ YES, good idea on the lip balm, I’ve heard the same! I have one in a pouch in our hospital bag and one in my purse but I might grab a few more from around the house to put in the other pouches so I can be sure to find one when I need it!
