Joining Shay & Erika today for How We Wednesday to share ALL THE CHRISTMAS THINGS!
Last Wednesday I shared a blog post full of pictures from some of my family members & how they have their homes decked for the holiday! So for all the decor inspo check that out here.

Every year I like to make up a batch of holiday goodies for each of us to take into work the week leading up to Christmas. On Monday, I shared some of the treats I made as my husband had a holiday party at work and signed up to bring treats – these pretzel hugs are a MUST on my list every year! They are seriously so simple but one of the best little treats and I grew up making them every single year!

Last year we spent Christmas & New Years in Arizona with my husband’s family! Obviously as I’ll be 35 weeks pregnant this year we’ll be staying here in Michigan 😉 Generally we try to alternate years, it hasn’t worked exactly like that but it is usually the goal. So sometimes for us Christmas means Arizona & sometimes its Michigan, ultimately it is always with family though!

I am a big fan of holiday festivities! We’ve gone to Detroit to see Campus Martius decked out & hopping with activities. The town we lived in throughout college has the best Dickens Festival on the weekends in December leading up to Christmas and I always LOVE making it to that. We’ve also loaded up in the car and driven around to look at everyone’s lights!

I did make a German Pancake/Dutch Baby with butter syrup (!) for Christmas breakfast and I do think that will need to be a tradition we continue because holy YUM!!! We also typically make Prime Rib for Christmas dinner, yes please!

Typically Ron & I just fill each other’s stockings. Keeping things simple & not too expensive because honestly we budget to buy ourselves bigger things when we want them, like car parts for my hubby or books & jewelry for me 😉

OMG Rechelle- this post is giving me all the cozy feels! Those reindeer cookies are so cute and I LOVE that doggie flower arrangement on your table 🙂
Thanks Holly! The reindeer cookies are just Peanut Butter cookies that I just shape oval before baking then add pretzels, mini choc chips, & m&ms to decorate 🙂
I have got to make some of those pretzel cookies ASAP. Such a fun festive post!
Thanks Sarita, yes so easy too!
I Love everything here! I must ask about your prime rib. We are cooking that for Christmas- any secrets you can pass on please?
Thanks Laurie! My hubby is always in charge of cooking the Prime Rib but LOW & SLOW is the key!!! Last year we put ours in the oven at 500F for 25 minutes and then turned the oven off & just let it sit until the center reached 130F for medium rare. The key is to NOT OPEN THE OVEN! So you’ll want a thermometer that you can read the temp from the outside, we have one that has a little remote that tells us what the temp is. It did take a few hours so plan for that 🙂
Also, bone in roasts are much better than boneless.
You have a lot of sweet traditions! I love that you always celebrate with your family.
Thanks Dara, me too 🙂
