I love to make treats for all my boys! Ron is a cookie monster so I try to bake cookies to keep stocked. While Hank & Hal love just about anything I give them!
Today I’m sharing a couple of the treats I make for our beagles. During the summer months they love a frozen treat after a hot day outside or a family walk – who am I kidding, when don’t they love a treat?! I keep frozen berries (strawberry, blueberry, blackberry and raspberry mix) in our freezer for quick & easy snacks. But I also like to make some homemade treats too!
These 3 recipes are very simple, mix up in the blender, and only require a few minutes of preparation.
You just blend up your ingredients, pour into ice-cube molds, and put ’em in the freezer. I always transfer them to a freezer bag after everything is frozen to save space and make for easier access. I hope your pups enjoy these cool treats! And hey, you can eat them too 😉
PB, Banana & Honey Frozen Yogurt (recipe found here)
Banana (I always toss overripe bananas in the freezer instead of throwing them out and then use them for these treats or banana bread later!)
Honey
Plain Yogurt
Peanut Butter (no salt added)
I had extra bananas that I wanted to use up so I doubled this recipe: 2 bananas, 32 oz yogurt (this is a little less than the recipe linked calls for but its easier to use 1 lrg container than measure it all out), 4 T. honey or one really big squeeze, 4 T. PB. Honestly I just kind of eyeball everything, they don’t have to be precise, and once you blend you can add more ingredients to vary the consistency.
Apple Frozen Yogurt (recipe here)
Apple
Water
Plain Yogurt
I only had one apple on hand so I halved this recipe: 1 apple, half cup yogurt and splash of water until desired consistency.
Try one or try them all, they are super easy and I promise your dog will enjoy them no matter what. Please share with me if you do make any of these treats!
