Another installment of the monthly series I’ve been sharing of the renovations in my parent’s home! Just over a year a year ago my parents renovated their home, the same home I grew up in that is actually over 100 years old! To see their new & improved bathroom see here & the living room here. It wouldn’t be home without this bay window <3 We’ve all spent a lot of time sitting in there, dogs included! It is definitely a favorite spot. Actually we almost always all end up gathered in the kitchen even long after we finish eating, funny how that goes with family & food 😉
Would you believe that my mom ran a daycare out of our home when we were growing up, it amazes me to think about all the kids that were fed daily in this small kitchen. (Fresh Baked Pies sign)
My mom said this was the first room they started renovating and it was by far the easiest! Mostly just paint for the make over, the cupboards were chalk painted & sealed. The dresser was a$10 yard sale find and she uses it as her coffee bar for her Rae Dunn. The finishing touch will be installing a new farm sink!

They say the kitchen is the heart of the home – sounds like it’s very true for your parents’ house… from family and dog care and also day care… It’s a very beautiful light and bright kitchen. I LOVE the bay window – I can see myself curled up with list planning or reading… Thank you to you and your mom for sharing – it made my heart sing on this bleary-eyes Monday.. 🙂
