Yesterday my little sister turned 23, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! So it’s all about her for this Friday Favorites! I’ve been thinking about this post for a while now and have teared up with a lump in my throat at just the thought of writing about my sissy 🙂
To my sister on her birthday:
Raelyn, you are the best sister that I could ever ask for. Even though I don’t think I would have known to ask for you 23 years ago, the world certainly knew I needed you!
Growing up together is a funny thing. Our parents are in our lives from the beginning but they often leave too soon, our significant others aren’t found until later in life, but siblings see us the whole way through our lives. You know me just as well as I know myself, we share so much together!
You inspire me every single day to be a better person. I admire your courage and honesty to just tell it like it is, and loudly too lol. I admire your strength in battling an invisible disease like Chron’s. I admire your loyalty to family and being present no matter the cost. Heck, I even admire your ability to binge watch Netflix or Hulu!
I am proud to call you my sister and friend. I’m SO thankful to have you in my corner and know that if ever I need anything you’re there, no questions asked in the blink of an eye.
Of course Hank & Hal love you too, almost as much as they love treats! We’re all grateful to have you as their fill in parent when Ron & I are away and my heart rests easier knowing they are in your care.
23 years ago you came into this world and I’m still learning what a blessing it is to call you my sister. Rae, you’re the best part of me.
