Hi Friends! Today I asked my Mom, Renee, to guest post and share a mini tour of my parents’ home.Β I plan to do a monthly series of guest posts so that my Mom can show off all the hard work she has put in to decorating her home! I highly recommend following along on Instagram too for more fabulous home decor pictures from my Mom, especially if you like Rae Dunn, Westies, thrifting, or Farmhouse fun π
Today we’re taking a peek inside the bathroom! This room required some extensive destruction/construction as the bathroom was expanded & the layout slightly changed. A little glimpse at the chimney that had to come down to make way for the new bathroom entrance…
And at look at it now! For part of my childhood my sister & I shared a room upstairs that we referred to as the hallway to the bathroom lol – it was small and we basically had bunkbeds & room for a large wardrobe/armoire so that wallpaper you see was our bedroom π Now the bathroom & small side room have their own doors and are separate. As you can see my Mom changes our her decor for the seasons/holidays and right now her theme is lemons for summer!
Entering the bathroom. Oh Finn! (don’t let him fool you, he may be incredibly cute but he can be a wild wild westie hehe) My mom LOVES to thrift & go junkin’! She finds most all of her greenery at TJ Maxx or thrift stores – so keep your eyes peeled for deals on those items. And in the mirror you can see barn doors for the bathroom closet, my Dad built those! Those barn doors and the subway tile were really what my mom wanted when they started drafting plans – love that my Dad made it happen <3
Take a look around the corner! You can see it isn’t a huge bathroom but it is significantly larger than what it used to be and so cozy, cute too π My Mom loves to support various small businesses…get the gender bathroom sign here, “Get Naked” sign here, pine vanity & toilet & lights all from Menards.
Growing up 4 of us used to get around in the morning in this bathroom, except it was SMALLER! That thought just makes me smile though π My parents have done a wonderful job on renovating their home & I can’t wait to show you more of it in the coming months. My Mom is truly talented in decorating and my Dad is really handy so he can make most of her visions come to life!
Let me know your thoughts of this little guest post home tour! And feel free to leave any questions or comments below, my Mom will be monitoring & we’ll be sure to get back with you. OH and for good measure, this little quote is what makes my Mom happy so if it makes you happy too then follow along with her on Instagram (@dugansgirls), I certainly think she has one of the best feeds π
