Friday Favorites!

Linking up to share a few favorites 🙂 Happy Friday & Happy Birthday to Me! I kind of forgot that my birthday had been coming up so soon. Just weird times with everything going on in our country right now I guess lol, plus I feel as I get older birthdays just aren’t as exciting 😉 Anyhow, since it’s been a bit I’ve got more to catch up on here!

Ron & I usually break up the day by splitting time between one of us working while the other one spends time with a very busy toddler. I have been enjoying my time with Ro through the day knowing that I’m headed back to work next month! Enjoying time outside, making smoothies, and loving on our little boy doll 🙂

Hank has caught a couple squirrels, a mole, and a snake already this summer! He’s also escaped the yard a couple times but thankfully we’ve been right there to get him back quickly, oy that beagle. McGruff keeps close to either Ron or I at all times which sometimes means he’s underfoot & gets stepped on or hit with a toy but he takes it all with stride as if it doesn’t bother him one bit! And Hal always has the best, comfiest seat in the house! Poor Hal is Ro’s favorite, meaning Ro likes to give him toys or chase him around, and Ro is probably Hal’s least favorite so it’s an interesting combo.

My garden is growing SO WELL! I do everything from seed each year and it always just feels so rewarding to know that I sowed the seeds & nurtured them to fruit. I had a couple rogue pumpkin plants that grew from last year’s pumpkins that I had tossed in the garden to compost at the end of last year and they are HUGE, I don’t even know which variety of pumpkin they will be since I grew a few different ones last year lol. We’ve got plenty of potatoes, some zucchini & squash, along with a few beans & peas, plus corn, 4 varieties of pumpkin, as well as sunflowers & zinnias!! I can’t wait until we can start harvesting 🙂

I made some sourdough brownies this week and they were so YUMMY! We topped them with whipped cream & hot fudge one night and it was for sure a FAVORITE!

Allllll the time outside beating the heat with lots of water play! Ro likes to take keeping the dogs cool as his responsibility and he chases them around the yard trying to dump water on them – we’ve never done that to them so I’m not sure where he got the idea lol, they usually quickly get away from him!

As a joint birthday gift we received this bike trailer and we broke it open to test it out just after arrival this week! Ron & I enjoyed having a different way to get outside with Ro and he seemed to enjoy it for the most part anyhow 😉

Ro’s word association is blowing our minds! When we read or just talk sometimes certain words will just spark his mind and he’ll relate it to something else. While reading one book that mentioned a donkey it triggered him to want his animal figures so he could find the donkey which then reminded him that we had the Wonky Donkey book so he wanted to read that. Then we read a book about racecars and he took me out to turn on the TV because he wanted to watch a race (we had watched 4 car races on TV over the course of the weekend) which then led to getting his Lightening McQueen cars and turning on Cars. It is just so neat to watch his little brain go!

Cereal for breakfast has turned in to removing all the cereal and drinking out of the bowl…can you tell we have 3 dogs haha?!
