I’ve had such a great streak of reading lately! I’ve got a few good ones to tell you about today and see here for previous books I’ve read too.
The Things We Keep by Sally Hepworth
WOW, this was such an excellent book! I can not say enough good things about it. I’ve read 2 books since reading this one and I’m still thinking about it regularly. Sally Hepworth does an amazing job at really researching the real life topics her books are about. I read The Secrets of Midwives last year and it was a good one too. Plus her next one just came out and I’ve already put in a request for it at my library!
The Things We Keep follows Anna who is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease at age 38 and the relationship she develops with Luke, 41 whom also has dementia, in the senior home, Rosalind House. This is a story of caring, endurance. hope, and most certainly love. Also I just really love when you come across the title of the book within the pages, this was my favorite!
The Rumor by Elin Hilderbrand
I love Hilderbrand novels and just feel like I need one a month. They’re easy to read and I can always count on them to be a good read! The Rumor is about 2 best friends and their families and the rumors that spread so quickly on a small island. What I loved most about this one was that one of the main characters is a novelist and I felt like I got a peek into Elin Hilderbrand’s life hehe
It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover
I only had about a week to squeeze this one in for the month of February but I didn’t have any problem! It wasn’t what I was expecting but it was SO so SO good! It Ends With Us is told by Lily, she narrates her life story and struggles and even writes journal entries to Ellen DeGeneres (my fave!). The chapters bounce between the man she is falling for right now and the first boy she fell for. I never really knew where the story was going but I love where it ended up!
Side note: I became a member of my library at the end of February 2016, I was browsing through my reading history in my account this week and found that I’ve read 20 books in one year. So I averaged about 1.5 books a month, I was really happy to know that! Even better yet I’ve read 3 books per month for the last 2 months, so I’m off to a great start for the year! Hoping to read even more this year and bump it up to an average of 2 books per month 🙂 I’ve already got 4 books checked out currently, OH BOY!
