Project 52, week 45
On Monday I shared the details from my baby shower last weekend and I am still feeling all the love we received <3
My besties pulled off the best surprise last Friday when one of our girlfriends flew in from out of state for the weekend! We had a slumber party Friday night and then on Saturday they all came to my baby shower, my heart is SO HAPPY!

I listened to the first 2 books in this series on audiobook last month. This one I was able to get quicker as an eBook from my library since the audiobook wait list was LONG! Nonetheless, I LOVED this series!!! It gave me all those teenage love, butterflies in your stomach feels. My only complaint is that I wish this weren’t the end of Lara Jean’s love story lol. If you’ve watched the movie on Netflix you NEED to add the series to your reading list – I thought both the movie & books were just perfect 🙂
I got Hilderbrand’s newest on audiobook from my library, she is one of my FAVE authors though I haven’t read one from her in a while. This is Elin’s next winter series, I highly recommend her first Winter Series! I have to say I was a little disappointment in this one, it didn’t have all the things I typically love in a Hilderbrand novel. Likely because all of her books are usually set in Nantucket while this one takes places in St. John – Irene Steele seemingly picture perfect life unravels when she gets a call that her husband is dead & she starts to find out that he essentially lived 2 lives. The story line is good but it still just fell short and there really wasn’t a winter aspect there for me.
My first festive Christmas book of the season! This is actually part of a series and I am looking forward to picking up the others this year too! OH and one of the books in the series, A Dog Named Christmas, was made as a Hallmark movie!!! This story is a perfect combo of heartfelt & feel good – I cried a little but it was in such a good way as the main character George, a young man, battles the challenges of losing his father just before a hard winter in Kansas. His mom & sisters move back to family in Minnesota while George says for the season to help his grandparents. Of course he also earns the companionship of Tucker, an Irish Setter, too!
This was a quick audiobook for me this week and the perfect one to start the holiday season! It reminds me a lot of A Christmas Story in that the family is just a hot mess and it is told from the perspective of a young boy – there are plenty of similarities between the stories. I laughed, it was light-hearted, but still had a good holiday message!

How FUN with your girlfriends- loving your tribe! Agreed on Elin Hilderbrand’s latest book- I am reading it more slowly than any of her others because of the things you shared- one of my favorite things about her books is that she writes them set in Nantucket. Anyway, I am meeting her again next week and she will be signing the book so I have to finish it!!

Happy Friday Rechelle! It finally made it! What a blessing to have a tribe of friends and family… and blog friends too! Want to do much this weekend but have to go easy because air quality is VERY unhealthy due to CA wildfires. Please pray for all the firefighters and law enforcement officers and especially those hurt by these disasters, human and animal. Have a great weekend and please give Hank and Hal a scratch by the ears.
