Project 52 Week 38
Â
We enjoyed this pretty sunrise on our way to work Wednesday morning!
This week has been full of some of my favorite linkups, see my reverse bucket list from Monday and a wrap up of what we’ve been up to this month from Wednesday.
It FINALLY felt like FALL on our walk last night and smelled like it too!
It was finally my turn to check this on out at the library just before we headed to Denver, so this was my vacation reading material! I think Elin’s books make excellent vacation reading too, so fitting, light, and easy to read. This one as you might suspect was about twin sisters and she mimicked the Parent Trap plot for it too! Identical twins, very different from one another, switch places for the summer. One lives on Nantucket, the other on rival Martha’s Vineyard. I loved the twist, the fun play on a story we already know only for adults, and that we got a peek into another island! This was definitely a top Hilderbrand novel for me 🙂

I read this one when it came out back in 2014 and decided to re-read it after feeling so inspired by Melanie’s newest book Church of the Small Things. This is a memoir about marriage, I wasn’t actually married yet when I first read it which also made me want to read it now. This one is SO funny and very much relatable!!

So I have a confession…I started reading this book last year (only 30 pages) and for some reason didn’t finish it, eeks! Now I LOVE Elin Hilderbrand novels, so I’m thinking I was maybe just a little burnt out on reading, because that does happen sometimes, and just forgot to pick it back up. Which I find really funny because I’m almost finished with this and I think it might actually be my favorite Hilderbrand novel! This is about 3 women escaping to Nantucket for the summer, away from the drama of their lives. Two of them are sisters with a rocky relationship, one battling lung cancer and the other recently fired from her prestigious job as a professor for an intimate relationship with a student. The third woman is a friend keeping her own secret from her husband that she is pregnant. It is SO good and a perfect book to wrap up summer, though I’m still likely to keep reading beach reads through winter 😉
