Wrapping up my favorites from the week with Andrea and also reviewing the books I’ve read this month!
As always, my Project 52 layout for week 12 🙂
On Saturday we met my family for an early dinner and then my mom, sister and I went to see Beauty and the Beast – SO GOOD! I wore my new LuLaRoe Irma with roses which was perfect for the movie and of course threw my new favorite jacket on top!
Ron was trying to do homework one day this week, Hank & Hal decided he needed their help 😉
Often times my nights end on the couch like this, with one dog curled between my legs and the other near my face or head. I love that my days get to end like this, it is the perfect opportunity to reflect and truly appreciate all that I have. Sometimes our beags can be a handful, sometimes they destroy my things, but always they show us LOVE!
And this is Hank when it’s raining out… He so badly wants to be outside but we so badly do not want a sopping wet dog. So we compromise 😉
Now on to review the books I’ve read this month….please send me any recommendations you have, I’m always happy to hear of other good books! You might notice the little reading buddy I’ve earned in the pics below too hehe
A Mother’s Promise by Sally Hepworth
This one took a little longer for me to get in to than Sally Hepworth’s previous two novels but I still loved it. I love her stories, the way she tells them, and the raw truths she exposes. This one had a HUGE surprise that I never once saw coming and even when I kind of thought maybe I knew, it still hit me hard after it was revealed.
A Mother’s Promise is a strong female novel. The story shows how we all need our mothers or sometimes even two. Whether they are biological or maybe just a friend who stands in to mother you.
Silver Girl by Elin Hilderbrand
Again I’d say this one took a little longer to get in to than normal, I’m thinking now that is because I read two AMAZING novels last month! I still love Hilderbrand and I fall more in love with Nantucket with each page I read.
Two girlfriends who grew up together but had a falling out need each other after they’ve both lost their husbands. Meredith lost hers to jail after he committed a Ponzi scheme crime and Connie lost hers to brain cancer. Things aren’t perfect but with the power of friendship, the pull of love, and the strength of forgiveness this story comes together beautifully.
Talking as Fast As I Can by Lauren Graham
This was a short, quick read and a MUST if you’re a Gilmore Girls fan! I was hesitant about this one at first since I didn’t know what more I would learn that I didn’t already know. I’m so glad I took a chance though! Lauren is funny just like you’d expect and gives lots of neat insight to GG. Plus, can’t forget about Parenthood 😉 Add this one to your list if you’re a fan of Lauren Graham, Gilmore Girls, or Parenthood!

Omg, your dogs are so cute. Love that he’s half in and half out of the dog flap. haha!!
Looks like you read some great books. I really want to read Lauren Graham’s memoir. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed it. 🙂 Do you like mystery novels at all? I just recently read A Murder in Time and it was SO good. The sequel comes out soon.
