Early this week our neighbor dog Bo stopped by for a visit! Bo is a goldendoodle puppy and he is HUGE lol – Hank enjoys trying to figure out how to play with him and Hal hides in the house 😉
Reading through my Glamour magazine and I snapped this bit, YASSS!
Project 52, week 16
Thank goodness I had to travel for work this month because I think it might have been the only thing that kept me on track for completing 3 books this month, I finished one just on the flight down!
The Smart One by Jennifer Close
The Smart One follows a mother whom her parents always called the Smart One, she thought she raised her 3 children well until they all end up back at home living. I felt like this one took me a while to finish, like I had to convince myself to read each night. I did enjoy the book though once it was over! However I didn’t really feel like I got anything from it.
The Magnolia Story by Chip & Joanna Gaines
I picked this up before my quick work trip to Florida this month and read it on my flight down. I LOVED every minute of it!! If you like Chip & Joanna, Fixer Upper, or just a good true love story then this is a book for you! I felt like I could hear both Chip & Jo chatting away, telling me about the life they’ve built. I really can’t recommend this one enough!
The Blue Bistro by Elin Hilderbrand
Of course you knew I had to include a Hilderbrand novel. This one felt special because a few of the characters from other Hilderbrand novels I’ve read appeared here or there. It was like I was in on some secret. This novel is about a bistro in its last summer open and I really enjoyed the different side of Nantucket from this book and even just reading about the FABULOUS food made me hungry. You know I love Elin Hilderbrand and I certainly loved this one!!

I agree, The Magnolia Story was so great. One of the better books I’ve read in 2017 so far. I can speak for the reader who isn’t up to date with Fixer Upper, you can still enjoy this book! Stopping by from Car Pool Book Club and inviting you over to my blog if you need book suggestions for May 🙂
