My favorite moment this week was Hank giving Ronald a wet willie lol!
At the beginning of the month I bought a couple products that I saw some other bloggers rave about…I decided to give Billie razors a try and it has been great! Such a close & smooth shave, plus fun colors to choose from. I appreciate that the razor has a magnetic holder making it easily accessible in the shower and that the subscription ships based on your usage AND that is it affordable!!
Then I bought the Colleen Rothschild Radiant Cleansing Balm when it was on sale at the beginning of the month too. I LOVE the smell and how easily it cleans my face. I skin feels like it is getting cleaned & nourished at the same dang time. It also takes off mascara really well.
I mentioned in my post on Wednesday about VERB hair products too. I can not get enough of the Dry Shampoo! Using these products my hair feels smoother & I am able to go longer between washes – which hello, as as mama, means everything! 😉 If you use my link here you get a discount on your first purchase and I earn commission too! I’ve also been loving this shampoo & conditioner, combined with this hair mask once a week, Ghost Prep on wet hair for a heat protectant & overall smooth/shine, or Ghost Oil on dry hair. My FAVORITE of all though is that they are cruelty free!!! Plus clean ingredients & cost effective 🙂
And since it has been a while, these are the books I’ve read lately…The Things We Cannot Say by Kelly Rimmer – LOVED this book, I quickly devoured it! The story bounces between present time with Alice then back to World War II with her Grandmother Alina. It is a beautiful story of 2 strong women, the hardships they endure, and the love that prevails. Definitely a top contender for my favorite book so far this year!
Birth Without Fear by January Harshe – I listened to this one on audiobook before I attended a Birth Without Fear Conference in July. January speaks so many powerful truths, her movement is all about empowering women to feel in control of their own pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experiences. It isn’t about which way is right or wrong, better or worse, it is about educating on all the options available and the freedom to make any choice you wish. This will be the book I forever recommend to all pregnant women in the future. I am so glad to own my own signed copy too and know I’ll read it & refer to it often.
The Girl He Used to Know by Tracey Garvis-Graves – Such a great read! This one had me feeling all the things. Annika struggles in social settings, she can’t & consistency. She falls in love with Jonathan but everything falls apart until they get a read people, and has a fear of saying or doing the wrong thing. She strives on structure second chance many years later. At one point near the end of the book I found myself yelling at the author. Just repeatedly saying “noooo don’t do this” as I knew what was unfolding. My heart was racing and I HAD to know how it all ended. This one was so good!
Evvie Drake Starts Over by Linda Holmes – I picked this one up after I saw it was on Jenna Bush’s book club list and to be honest it wasn’t my favorite. The story was good and it was easy to read but it was really quite predictable. I think maybe because I read this one after the above one it just didn’t feel as fabulous.
Summer of ’69 by Elin Hilderbrand – I love Elin Hilderbrand, I really do. Recently though her books have been hit or miss for me, this one wasn’t quite a miss but it wasn’t a huge hit either like some of her other ones have been. Maybe it was because one of the main characters was a teen? I felt like I would’ve liked for the story to expand more on a couple of the other characters. It was still a good book and I’d certainly recommend it to fans of Hilderbrand, it just wasn’t a GREAT book of hers to me.
