Faves on Friday: Thankful Edition - Our Home with Hounds

Hooray for a Friday link up with Andrea, sharing our favorites for the week!

First up, as usual my Project 52 layout for week 9 🙂

On Monday we went to the Vet for the beags check up. I laughed at the photos I snapped that were just too fitting, Hal being chill and cool and Hank wild as ever! We always stop by Culver’s on the way home for a puppy custard, it’s their favorite 😉

We even snuck in a sunny walk though it was chilly.

This last one was definitely not a favorite moment from the week, actually it was my least favorite moment. However, the way the moment was handled was kind of a favorite. My husband and I were in a multi-car accident on our way to work Wednesday morning. Our car is still being assessed but it was not drive-able. Definitely the first few moments after the accident I let out a few select words (many of them starting with F, that my mother would not be proud of) and I was upset, maybe even angry. After getting out of the car I quickly changed my feelings and mindset, I was thankful both of us were okay in fact everyone involved was fine.

I’ve been trying to take a page out of my husband’s book in positivity. It used to make me mad how he always had something positive to say in any given situation but I’m starting to learn its a really good way to live. Getting negative only makes a situation worse and you often end up even more mad. So, in the hours after and throughout the day after the accident we kept saying positive things to each other. Thankful we were okay. Thankful we have our health, we have each other, and thankfully we are in a position that we will easily recover from this accident.

Once we were home and making lunch I even found myself feeling sorry for the gentleman who caused the accident. He could lose his job over this and didn’t look like someone who could even afford to lose his job. At the scene I could tell he genuinely felt horrible for what had happened. I wish I would have told him not to worry, we’re all human and make mistakes, it could have easily been any one of us.

So I guess what I’m saying is that I’m happy and proud of the progress I’ve made in looking at the bright side. I’m not saying I’m glad that we got in an accident, but it certainly could have been worse and we’ve still got plenty to be thankful for. The more I practice positivity the more it has become natural and I don’t have to think about it and quite frankly the happier I am in everyday life! Thankful for my guy for making me be the best me possible every single day!
