I pinned this idea on Pinterest a year or more ago and just finally got around to making it. Pinterest if awesome for inspiration but I feel like often times I never actually make any of the things I pin…So I’m happy to check this one off the list! Plus everything I used I already had so it was a free project, though even if I would have had to buy the materials it would have been inexpensive.
I have quite the collection of hoops and just found two that I thought paired well together. I believe these are 12″ and 8″ hoops.
I had this polka dot burlap leftover from our wedding actually. I just placed it in the hoop cut around the edges, leaving enough to fold under and hot glue in the back. I didn’t pay attention to the orientation of the polka dots but thankfully I think it worked out in the end. So if you have a fabric with a pattern it might be a good idea to think ahead on the placement.
Then I just used twine to attach the two hoops to one another. This might have been easier to do before securing the burlap in the hoops but it should work either way. You’re going to tie a ribbon around this connection point so you don’t have to worry about its looks.
I made some rosettes from other ribbon and cut out the ears. I hot glued these down on the smaller hoop/the face.
I cut up some scrap fabric into strips and tied it together to make my bunny tail, then I just hot glued it in place on the larger hoop/body.
Tie your neck ribbon around and attach a ribbon on the back for hanging the bunny up!
This was a really easy DIY! Though I must admit it took me longer than anticipated mostly because I tried to take photos along the way. Plus I just randomly decided to make it one night so I had to dig out all my materials and I played with a lot of different ribbon options before deciding on this combo. Do you decorate for spring or Easter? Have any fun DIYs to share with us?
