I made a watermelon wreath for my mother in law for Mother’s Day (inspiration here) and finally decided to make a second one since I still had materials left. I’m sure my mom will try to convince me to give her this one, so we’ll see if I even end up keeping it ๐
Materials needed: wreath form, green tulle, pink/red tulle, black fabric (I used felt), scissors, glue (I used my hot glue gun)
A quick tip: I purchased a foam wreath form from a craft store and then had my husband cut it in half for me. So I was able to make 2 wreaths with one form, even better! Also, I grabbed 2 shades of green and 2 shades of pink to add a little variety.
You might have to do a little trial and error on the length you cut your tulle depending on the size of your wreath, mine ended up being about 10-11 inches.
I found a good little rhythm and rolled with it. I cut three strips of one shade of green then tied them on. Followed by three strips of the other shade of green. Once I felt I had enough of my ‘rind’ complete I switched over to pink and used the same system until I was finished.
This is a really easy yet slightly time-consuming project. I just did it while I watched some Netflix and called it a win-win! Please share with me any wreaths or craft projects you’ve completed lately ๐
