Today I thought I would share with you a day in our life right now, a way to document these unprecedented times currently. This was last Friday for us š
The dogs, usually Hank, wake us up pretty early so we haven’t been setting an alarm. Up before 6am, spent a few minutes on my phone and then got moving!
Dressed & ready to go for the day thirty minutes later. We’ve still been trying to stick with our normal routine even though we’re home for now, I’ve found getting around in the morningĀ like usual keeps me motivated to keep working & tackling the day.
Breakfast & sitting down to work. I try to logon to work by 6:30, just to get at least an hour in before Ro wakes up and we have to start juggling him š
Usually by 7:30 Ro is awake, if not we wake him up by 8am at the latest because otherwise it throws off his naps for the day. So one of us goes in to get him & puts him in some jammies, then I nurse him to start his day.
I forgot to grab a picture this day but after I nurse him he has breakfast, he has been really loving Joe’s O’s (like Cheerios) with milk & bananas lately!!
Then starts the juggling for the day, basically Ron & I look at our meetings first thing in the morning and figure out how to best equally rotate responsibility of Ronald so that we can both attend our meetings & get some work done. I had the first shift, so we played a bit & started some laundry – perk to working from home!
Then we switched for a little bit and this was my view while I worked for a bit.
Thankfully Ro is still taking two naps a day, so once he is down for his morning nap we both GET TO WORK!
Once Ro wakes up we eat lunch – usually Ron or myself will get lunch started & served up before Ro wakes that way as soon as he is up we are ready. This might be my favorite part of the day! I just enjoy getting to take some time with my family in the middle of the day, it is a nice refresher.
During my afternoon shift Ro & I played with some dry beans and took a ball to Hal – Ro knows that Hal loves balls so when he finds one he always likes to try to get it to Hal which is so sweet!
A little afternoon snack time and then back down for another nap!
Usually once Ro wakes up from his second nap we tend to wrap up our work day. On this particular day it was SO NICE outside so we got out for a family adventure!
Then the busy evening had me forgetting to snag pictures but we made dinner & ate together and usually have an hour or just a little longer to play & wind down for the night. We folded the laundry that I had started earlier in the day.
Ro goes down for bed between 7 & 7:30 then Ron & I usually take an hour to ourselves, him usually getting out in the garage and on this night I video chatted with my besties! Other nights I will watch a show or read. Finally we end our night with either watching an episode of whatever show we might be watching (currently The Great British Baking Show) or just lounging & catching up on the couch. I like to be in bed by 9:30 at the latest! And that’s what our days look like right now! We certainly terribly miss our family & friends and honestly I’d like to just grocery shop regularly even, but I really am loving all this time with my little family! We’ve fallen in to a great little routine that has been working well for us and I know I’m going to miss all this extra time together when things return to normal.

I love a āDay in the Lifeā post! These certainly are unprecedented times. I admire how you keep to your schedule while working from home, and coordinating your work schedules to do shifts with Ro. Iām sure heās thinking itās great to be w his family all day… You and Ron have good communication skills, and show grace for one another, as noted from your past posts. Take care, love one another, and be safe.

I am very much a schedule type person lol, making an outline to our day with some structure just helps everything move along! We all are truly loving this extra time š yes, very thankful to have a spouse that I communicate so well with, especially right now when we have very little time apart from one another! We are certainly caring & loving each other and doing our best to stay safe, I hope you & your family are doing the same Laurie!!
