Today I’m sharing a little interview with my husband! This blog is about our home with hounds but since I write it, most of it comes from my point of view or features me. I’d like to give you a little insight to the man on the other side of this blog! Yesterday on our commute to work together I asked him some random questions so you can get to know him better and we decided that soon hopefully he will write a blog post to be featured as well! (His responses are in italics below.)
First up, introduce yourself please.
What is your favorite thing about me blogging?
Watching how much fun you have doing it.
What is your least hated household chore?
Mowing the lawn. Does that count?
Yes, it counts because I don’t want to have to do that…
What is your most hated household chore?
Laundry.
What do you admire most about Rechelle?
There’s a lot of things…oh, I’ve got to think.
No rush.
That’s a hard one.
Let’s skip it and come back…
Your creative ability to find outlets for your passions. Like blogging, making things for the beagles, garden, etc.
What is the worst part about being married to Rechelle?
I probably shouldn’t say tooting in the car huh? (then we both died laughing!) Okay, half the things I do are wrong, like folding laundry or doing dishes.
That’s it, that’s the worst?
Uh yeah, it’s not bad being married to ya, that’s why I married you.
(He’s the actual best!)
What do you think is the secret to a successful marriage?
Forgiveness & Fun.
We talked more about how we make our marriage work here.
What was your first impression of Rechelle? How accurate do you think that was now?
That your were happy, nice, and quiet. All still true except you’re not that quiet.
If you weren’t in the profession you are now, what other profession would you be in?
I guess either Automotive Technician or Musician.
(Which really I think it already is both of those along side being an engineer!)
If our house were on fire and you only have a chance to grab 5 things what would they be?
Hank, Hal…
Aside from me, Hank, & Hal.
Oh, you weren’t going to be in my 5, I figured you could get yourself out. (Ha, thanks!) Corvette for sentimental and monetary value. Honeymoon/Anniversary scrapbook, computer for the pictures that we have saved on it, Rechelle’s sentimental jewelry, and our filing system with all the important documents and all the cards we’ve given each other.
Surprisingly this one was a struggle for him, I had to give him a few prompts. He was really trying to think of the important or valuable things and it was really sweet!
Your favorite song of all time and why – is it the lyrics, memories associated with it, or just the whole package?
WHAT, NO WAY! (I knew this one would be TOUGH for him)
Alright, just pick one of your favorites…
Angel by Jack Johnson. Because I love you. (Our first dance song at our wedding, makes me melt)
What is your perception of how people see you?
Friendly, passionate, and nerdy.
(Friendly and passionate FOR SURE! Ron seriously makes friends with everyone and I would be shocked to ever hear of someone who doesn’t like him because he is just a likable guy!)
If you were handed a magic lamp and granted 3 wishes what would they be?
Healthy people. Healthy planet. World Peace. Cliche, I know but it is legitimately what I’d do with my 3 wishes. (Ugh, he is seriously SO sweet and kind!)
What has been your proudest moment thus far?
Marrying you. Really.
*tears* I can’t even with this guy! My proudest moments of him though have been getting his job at GM because he had and continues to WORK SO HARD for it and buying his dream Corvette and all the work he’s put in to it.
What is one of your favorite childhood memories?
The smell of riding in the Cutlass with my Dad coming back from Fred Enke golf course while listening to the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
What is a guilty pleasure of yours?
Astronaut Ice Cream (see some of my guilty pleasures from Monday, here)
What is a skill you wish you had?
Public Speaking or Singing or Fabricating
What are the best/worst things about being a beagle dad?
Best: Coming home and they are so excited to see you.
Worst: When they puke on your pillow at 2 am. True story.
HAHA, oh my gosh yeah bad night, he missed you by only inches.
Yeah and there was lots too! But we weren’t even worried that I nearly got puked on we were like “Oh poor Hal.”
Past or present who is someone you would like to sit down and have dinner with?
Dora Zuntov. Abraham Lincoln. Jesus Christ.
I said one…but okay three…
This is my interview, you said I can do what I want.
What is your favorite breakfast/lunch/dinner/ dessert?
Breakfast: Country Fried Steak. Lunch: Country Fried…JUST KIDDING! Tacos. Dinner: Smoked Brisket. Dessert: Cookies fresh out of the oven.
Describe your perfect day.
Not waking up at 5am by the beags (they woke us up at 4:30 this morning). Early morning F1 race with coffee to start the day. Take the Corvette to a race track. Dinner with family and friends. Lounge, just watching something with Rechelle and the beags. Maybe throw a dog walk in there somewhere too.
Thanks for sharing with us, Ronald! (Side note: Ronald is a 3rd, he was named after his dad and grandpa. So his family, and me too, refers to him as Ronald and his dad is Ron. Sometimes I forget that he isn’t Ronald to a lot of people lol! Oh and to my family I call him “My Ron” because they only call him Ron and think its weird if I say Ronald. For the most part I don’t think it is ever too confusing!)
Stay tuned for another post from Ronald soon 😉
