Today as I head back to work after 12 weeks of maternity leave and drop Ronald off for his first day of daycare I thought I’d document one of our days from last week to remember our special time together! I’m also linking up with Julie for Growing in Gratitude since these days are definitely what I’m most grateful for<3
Starting our morning early π
Ronald wakes up once in the night to eat, typically around 3a. I wake up to nurse him do a quick diaper change and he goes right back down to sleep, usually a 30 minute routine and we were back in bed by 3:30.
Then up to start our day around 7am for another feeding. After I burp him I get him changed and ready for the day and was sitting down to entertain him and eat my breakfast by 8am.
Back on the changing pad after his 9am feed! Basically we follow a eat, play, sleep schedule all day long and it repeats every 2 hours with him wanting to eat again!
Ronald LOVES being on his changing pad so we usually hang out there for a bit after getting changed, then I always try to follow it up with some tummy time! Sometimes he does REALLY well and other times he just isn’t in to it.
Sometimes he’ll let me know that he needs a nap sooner than usual and falls asleep without me even trying. Ronald naps really well in his crib, sometimes even unswaddled, but once a day I let him nap in my arms because I just can’t resist!
We headed out to check the mail! Really funny, since being home everyday I’ve realized that Hank & Hal know what the mail truck sounds like and will start barking at the mailman even when he is still a few houses away π
In the mornings I typically do tummy time & playtime in Ronald’s room and then in the afternoons I move out to the little nook we have set up for him in the living room – honestly this is just for my sanity to have some variety lol! We hung out in the boppy reading. Then tried some tummy time on the boppy too.
And then we got real mad and completely over it!!! haha So I turned on the record player and we danced a bit π
And then I fell off track taking pictures the rest of the night after Ron got home from work because it tends to be a little less go with the flow like during the day and more structured making sure we get dinner made, lunch unpacked/repacked, dishes done, and bedtime routines done. But usually Ronald gets changed into his sleeper after Dad feeds him around 6p and then we just quietly hang out together. I nurse him again around 8pm, we have his white noise machine on in his room where we’ll then change his diaper, swaddle him, and rock for a couple minutes and he is out! He sleeps in a pack n play next to our bed so we can hear him snore & grunt through the night π And of course on Friday, my last official day of leave, we just had to coordinate in our lucky shirts!
I sure loved my time home with our little boy <3
