Show & Tell: Travelogues

May 22, 2017 by Rechelle Leave a Comment

Today is a Travelogues Show & Tell linkup with Andrea about our best and/or worst trips. I actually just got back from a girls trip to northern Michigan too, so I’ll be sharing those fun details first!
I spent a long weekend in Traverse City for a bachelorette party! We celebrated my best friend’s sister in the best way possible 🙂
Some of us headed up on Thursday night to get a head start for the weekend and stayed at one of the girls’ family cabins. Then on Friday morning a couple of us headed to the house we were staying at for the weekend to get things decorated! I love the details that go in to a party and even helped make some of the decor, see the adult parties I’ve helped coordinate here.
Friday we lounged around our cabin, chatted, and soaked up the beautiful views! The rest of the girl gang joined us and we got prettied up to head out to dinner at The Franklin (I had fish and chips) and drinks at the Low Bar(I got a drink called the Bee’s Knees, all the drinks we got were SOOO GOOD)!
Saturday morning we were picked up by a driver and set out for a wine tour. We stopped at a few wineries and were dropped back off at our cabin – it was an excellent set up! Then we hung out for a little while, played some games, and got dolled up again for dinner at Georgina’s, YUM! It was a fun little trip for us ladies 🙂
So I don’t think I’ve ever really had a terrible trip! There was the time right after our engagement that we went to Texas and it was incredibly hot & humid and my fingers swelled up and I couldn’t take my ring off. I may have panicked lol! So instead I’ll share our annual anniversary trips.
For our honeymoon we went to Washington D.C. and it was the best ever! We had so much fun touring the city and taking in all the history!
We hit up the museums, rented bikes to get to all the monuments, and ate some delicious food.
We stayed a little outside of D.C. in Bethesda at a little boutique hotel and it was perfect! We could still use the subway system to get everywhere and were just around the corner from the cutest downtown with some of the best food I’ve ever eaten!
We also were able to attend a Washington Nationals game along with a Baltimore Orioles game! Going to a new ballpark each year is our goal for each anniversary.
So for our first anniversary we headed to Chicago to see the Cubs play! It was pretty hot at the ballpark but it ended up being okay, plus we got to see the biggest homerun of the year hit by Kris Bryant so that was neat! Wrigleyville surrounding the ballpark was AWESOME too! We actually rented bikes and rode to the park that way and it couldn’t have been better 🙂
We of course saw Navy Pier, Magnificent Mile, The Bean among many other tourist type places. And I had to stop in at The American Girl Place since we had made a couple trips growing up, it was neat to see again! OH and I went to a really cool Target, so that made my day!
Finally, last year we went to Pittsburgh which you can see more about here. We saw the Pirates play and ate some really great good with some pretty views.
I can’t wait to start planning our trip this year, we’ve already got some ideas for location. Where have you traveled? Any really great or horribly bad trips?
