On to share my review of my Petit Vour box! Petit Vour is a cruelty free beauty subscription box that is $15/month, I typically receive 4-5 products and often one of them is full size. You can also purchase the products directly from Petit Vour and earn points to redeem on future purchases! I’ve been subscribed to Petit Vour for nine months now, since September, you can scroll through my previous reviews here.
At the end of each month I like to review the books I’ve read for the month. You can see what I’ve read in previous months here. Or follow along with me on GoodReads! I set a goal to read 30 books this year, so an average of 2.5 per month, and I’ve been rolling along at 3 books per month and am already halfway to my goal and not yet halfway through the year! I know these summer months get busy and I’ll spend more time outside which is why I chose to go with the 2.5 average.
This month I started with Liane Moriarty’s The Husband’s Secret. I’ve read a couple other of Liane’s books and enjoy them, this was no exception. There were a lot of characters and at first it took me a while to keep them all straight but I LOVED the dynamic it added to the story!
This was a story about many family stories and how they were all kind of intertwined. It really made me think of all ways other people’s lives are intertwined with mine that I may not even know or realize. There was great suspense and twists & turns that I didn’t expect. The epilogue really tied it all together and wrapped it up perfectly too! Basically we will never know what could have been in any of our lives, this whole book was based on simply forgetting a doctor’s appointment…
Next I moved on to Little Beach Street Bakery by Jenny Colgan. I wasn’t certain about this book in the first few pages but things turned out to be a fun little read. Quite different writing style than most books I’ve read before but so very sweet! I’m not quite done with this one but will be before the end of the month 🙂
I’ve already got on book picked out for next month. What are you reading that I should add to my list?
Project 52, Week 19
Today I’m off for a Bachelorette party weekend in Traverse City! So expect some fun pictures from my weekend in my posts next week! Some of us actually headed to northern Michigan last night to get a head start on the festivities 🙂
On Monday I shared our Mother’s Day weekend which included a trip to IKEA, check out the post to see some of the fab finds we got!
Wednesday I joined in on the Ladies Who Link and shared our Memorial Day weekend plans of how we kick off summer, which has me SO looking forward to next weekend!
Finally, a look at my April Petit Vour box! Scroll through my previous Petit Vour subscription reviews here.
MarieNatie Love Marie Lip Gloss – This smells AMAZING!!! I love this gloss and really want to try other colors. I’ve always been more of a gloss girl than a lipstick one so I was SO HAPPY to see this in my box. The color is so natural and pretty too!
French Girl Organics Cuticle Oil – I’m pretty rough on my hands between building things at work then coming home to help my husband in the garage or dishes or gardening. I’ve usually got hangnails or something going on. I prefer not to have my fingernails painted for this very reason, because it just doesn’t last long. So I was excited to try out this cuticle oil, I’ve been using it daily! Usually I apply in the morning before I leave for work and then again at night before bed. I haven’t noticed life changing results but I certainly have seen an improvement!
Suntegrity Skincare Makeup with SPF – I’ve been using this on days when it is sunny and I know I’m going to be outside. I also still use my foundation which is SPF15 during the week. What I like about this though is that it is tinted making it perfect for weekends when I don’t like to do my makeup and keep things simple. It isn’t crazy moisturizing like it claims but I’m all about sun protection and trying anything to make sure I’m covered!
Nubian Heritage Body Lotion – I immediately fell in LOVE with this scent! My husband said it smelled like something an old lady would wear but I don’t even care one bit! It has a very high end luxury feel too it and would make a perfect gift.
Today I thought I’d share my nightly beauty routine with you. A year ago I rarely washed my face at the end of the day, ugh. I often put on makeup over what was left from the day before, YUCK. However, I decided my 25th year was the time that I would develop a better beauty routine and good habits for my skin.
I prefer to keep it simple so that I know I will do it. And honestly I probably still skip one night a month due to going to bed too late and not having the motivation.
I have a handful of different products. I mix and match what I use based on what I feel my skin needs and well, my motivation level ha!
I use this eye makeup remover every single night! I truly look forward to using it actually, it is so gentle, smells good, and leaves my eyes and surrounding skin feeling great.
I usually use this oil cleanser first to breakdown my makeup and it is incredible how well it works. Plus it only requires a little bit so this bottle lasts quite a while!
Then I decide on a couple different options of what to use to really clean my face. If I don’t have much makeup on, I’ll use this simple cleanser with this scrubber. Or on the weekends when I try not to wear makeup, I’ll just use this konjac sponge which I also like to use in the morning for a refresher.
If I need a little more cleansing I’ll use this charcoal cleanser to really get in and clean up my skin.
A couple days a week I’ll use this lip scrub and then I finish with a moisturizer. This one has been my new favorite and I’m obsessed with how soft my skin feels using it. Oh and lately I’ve been using this cuticle oil to help fight off the hangnails!
That is all! In usually less than 15 minutes I can wash my face and brush my teeth so I’m ready for bed, easy peasy and such an improvement from the last year! I’m always on the look out for new things to try and really taking care of my skin so please share any of your favorites 🙂
